Hera is the Queen of the Gods. She exercises dominion on Earth — and over Zeus — in her own unique way. But her power and freedom become threatened by Zeus' growing paranoia, and she is forced to act.
Biography[]
Plotting against Zeus[]
Hera returns home to find that Zeus has killed one of her tacitas. When she confronts Zeus, he reveals that he listened to her tongues, and he knows that she's been lying to him. Hera insists that she isn't cheating on Zeus and that he must've misheard despite having an affair with Poseidon. She asks him to show her exactly which tongue in which drawer he heard her, but he is unable to find it again, at which point she assures him that she's not plotting against him. After calming Zeus and leaving him in bed sleep, Hera mourns the death of her tacita.[1]
Hera, Poseidon, Dionysus, and Persephone gather to discuss how they're going to deal with Zeus. When he finally returns, he confronts each of them, even burning Hera's bee farm, stating that she will no longer keep the mother of his children slaves. Having grown tired of his games, Poseidon confesses that he loves Hera and asks her to come with him, but she laughs at him. Later, Hera calls someone from a pay phone, instructing them to gather the troops and make up the spare bed before leaving with her tacitas in tow.[2]
