The Fates are a trio of Goddesses who set the fates and write the prophecies for every person on the planet, including the Gods.
Biography[]
Granting Orpheus access to the Underworld[]
The Fates host a game at the bar where they give mortals the opportunity to rescue their deceased loved ones from the Underworld, but they punish Orpheus for denying Riddy her chance at renewal by taking her coin. For this, Atropos stabs him in the hand and Orpheus is disqualified.[1] However, Dionysus uses Zeus' watch as a bargaining chip to get Orpheus access to the Underworld throughout a trash can behind the cave.[2]
"Killed" by Zeus[]
The Fates eagerly await Zeus' arrival upon learning his plans to kill them and stop all prophecies. They explain that for someone's prophecy to come to pass, they must bring it into being. If they decide it doesn't exist, then it doesn't exist. But Zeus insists that his does, to which they reply that only the possibility for it exists. Nevertheless, Zeus seeks to kill them. The Fates are not only accepting of their fate, they help Zeus kill them by dousing themselves in fuel as Zeus grabs a match and sets them ablaze. As they go up in flames, Zeus notices Lacy wearing his watch and asks why she got it from. Lacy returns the watch and reveals that she got it from Dionysus. The Fates later return to grant Prometheus is freedom.[3]
